This is an exciting new opportunity to develop your skills and experience in psychological medicine.  We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff into our new specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service. Our service – which is run by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough  NHS Foundation Trust – is part of a nationally funded programme by NHS England to  improve access to treatment and better outcomes for women and families all over England.

Our multi-disciplinary team is county wide operating out of two hubs – one located in Peterborough and one located in Cambridge – with the north hub operating outreach services to Huntingdon and the Fens. We are committed to working closely with our community partners in midwifery, obstetrics, social work, safeguarding and health visiting and each senior member of the team will have a lead role in a designated area to cultivate these links.

A full time 8A Clinical Psychologist-Perinatal Mental Health post to be based within the north hub is being advertised. This is a fixed term post for 1 year to cover maternity leave, starting in June 2020. This post-holder will join an 8A psychologist already in post in the north hub, alongside the multidisciplinary team. The post-holder will also work alongside an 8A and 8B psychologist based within the south hub.

The Psychological Medicine Service at Addenbrookes Hospital includes Liaison Psychiatry and Clinical Health Psychology for both adults and children. Some of these posts are embedded with specialist teams and others are part of the general services. While the post advertised here will be part of the wider Psychological Medicine Service, they will be community based within the multi-disciplinary team day to day. Clinical Psychologists have a professional network within Psychological Medicine and are also part of the CPFT professional group. The service provides placements for the University of East Anglia Clinical Psychology Training Course.

We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist with an interest in perinatal mental health and related experience, to provide psychological expertise to CPFT’s Perinatal Mental Health Team, as well as providing a direct clinical service to mothers and their families.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) provides integrated community and mental health, learning disability and social care services of the highest standard due to our continued commitment to quality and service improvement. We aim to support people of all ages to achieve the very best they can for their health and well- being. To ensure that we achieve this goal we look to recruit candidates of a high calibre that share our passion for delivering excellent service user care, research and education.
