We have several exciting opportunities  for  suitably qualified and experienced candidates to become CAMHS practitioners to work within the Children and Families Directorate in  Peterborough, Huntingdon and Fenland. Please indicate in your application if you would have a preference for area.

Our teams are busy and energetic providing a service to young people aged between 5 and 18 years presenting with complex mental health needs and often high levels of risk. It is an excellent motivated team, staffed by experienced multi-disciplinary workers, including clinical psychologists, consultant psychiatrists, a family therapist and CAMHS practitioners from varying backgrounds. The Core CAMHS Team works alongside our Neurodevelopmental Teams.

The successful candidates will work as  CAMHS Practitioners offering full assessments, formulation and evidence based interventions to children, young people and their families, who are experiencing mental health difficulties, in line with local and national guidelines.

You will also provide regular and on-going consultation, joint work, training and advice to other professionals in relation to child and adolescent mental health to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

Post holders will also have the opportunity to spend time working in the Single Point of Access Team which screens and processes all incoming referrals.

The job includes participating in the on-call rota providing mental health risk assessments including some weekends and Bank Holidays.

We would welcome applications from candidates who do not yet meet the person specification for the 6 role as we would support them through agreed preceptorship from a B5 role to the 6.

Informal conversations welcome prior to applying.
