An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and skilled practitioner to join the well established and nationally recognised Cambridgeshire Child and Adolescent Substance Use Service – CASUS. This dynamic and supportive multi disciplinary team provides interventions to young people and families across Cambridgeshire.
The successful candidate will work as a Senior Substance Misuse Practitioner / Nurse to offering specialist assessments, formulation and evidence based interventions to children, young people and their families, who are experiencing problems with substance misuse, offending and mental health difficulties, in line with locally commissioned and national guidelines.
The team uses the Adaptive Mentalisation Based Integrative Therapy AMBIT - approach in it’s provision of multicomponent substance misuse treatment. The postholder will provide clinical leadership to the team with opportunities for research and service development.
You will also provide regular and on-going consultation, joint work, training and advice to other professionals in relation to child and adolescent substance misuse to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
The post is full time, Monday to Friday 9-5pm and is a permanent position, with some working from home and some time based from our Huntingdon offices or our central Cambridge clinic. The post holder will be required to work peripatetically across the county.
Essential minimum requirement for the post is current professional registration with the NMC or HCPC/Social Work England. The post would be suitable for a qualified mental health nurse, social worker, occupational therapist or arts therapist.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
