The Infection Prevention and Control Team at CPFT is looking to recruit a resourceful Clinical Specialist Nurse in Infection, Prevention and Control to join the small CPFT -IPC team, which is part of the wider Nursing and Quality directorate.
Are you a registered Nurse with passion for patient safety, do you have vast experience or qualification in infection, prevention and control? If you are looking to progress your career and use your expert knowledge and skills of IPC across range of community and mental health care settings, then there is an opportunity for you to work with CPFT .
You will work across the County of Peterborough and Cambridgeshire to deliver clinically based support, education, training, and development of staff and service users throughout the Trust in all aspect of infection prevention and control. Your role will include supporting the establishment of IPC surveillance, monitoring and investigation of alert organisms.
You will be required to work closely with the Head of Infection Prevention and Control in the day to day running of the IPC service across the Trust .The post holder will contribute to the multidisciplinary clinical assessment of patients, develop and embed evidence based clinical practice within the CPFT team and directorates for management of healthcare associated infections and implementation of compliance measure to the Health and Social Care Act 2008, Code of Practice on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance.
You will require excellent organisational and communication skills to enable you to work collaboratively with various professional with the community and secondary care providers. You will have the opportunity to develop and use your knowledge and skills to participate in other nursing and quality assurance activities within CPFT .
The post requires travel to different sites and it is essential that the successful candidates has access to a car for work purpose or able to use trust pool car to commute frequently between locations.
You will have excellent organisational skills and a working knowledge of MS office packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Excel etc., alongside excellent communication skills both written, face-to-face and over the telephone.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
